CCXII: PVR Woes

I love my HD-PVR. It has served me so very well. Without it, I would never have been able to guiltlessly miss a favourite show while it aired or catch so many amazing Live in HD Met opera productions. I've amassed a prized collection of stellar operas including Tosca, Carmen, Aida, Les Contes d'Hoffmann, and Madama Butterfly, and was happy to have these for my viewing pleasure.

I also think about all those episodes of Top Gear I recorded in order to find my treasured Vietnam episode--along with a couple other great ones like the race through London (speedboat vs. public transportation vs. bicycle vs. car) and the Arctic expedition. These are saved in addition to about a dozen I have yet to watch.

But come August 27th, I will have to bid adieu to my TV babies due to the fact that we are making the transition from Bell Expressvu (satellite) to Shaw (digital cable), since it will save us a lot of money. And though we will have a new HD-PVR, the old one will have to be returned along with all my favourite television moments. I had even kept my recorded clip of RaeRae's gold medal presentation!

You know what this means. I will have to watch all my saved recordings and rewatch all of those operas so that I can rightly say goodbye.

I never even got to name him!
