...and dine some more.
My friends and I did pay for our lunches, thank you very much, but we were in a bit of a hurry since it was time to go home. We ate at the Hillside Estate Bistro for the third time and manoeuvred a three-way shared lunch (Pleuve had her own). This solved the biggest dilemma of my trip since Nicky and RaeRae graciously agreed to share half of each of the options I was eyeing: the flat iron steak and the duck confit sandwich. So delicious!!!
We hustled and drove to the Coquihalla Highway, and all was going well and extremely fast until I made the stupid decision of turning onto highway 5A instead of staying on the Coquihalla and eventually going onto the 5. This costed us an extra 50-100km or so of travel length and time, and instead of the wide and speedy Coquihalla I was stuck on the narrow and windy one-laned Crowsnest once again. Grrr. I thought the drive would never end. When it finally ended I was filled with relief.
So my friends, after 4 days, 3 nights, 1000 kilometres, 6 newly acquired bottles of wine, and x pounds of weight-gain, I am sorry that we had to part from each other today after our short-lived vacation; but I am also happy to be home and back to my healthier spending and eating habits (or so I hope--I have the rest of RaeRae's yummy homemade banana and chocolate chip cookies!). Thank you and see you all very soon!
Thanks so much for driving us, Giosy!!! I still made it to my dinner! (which was at a chinese restaurant but played french music...)
