CCXXVI: Cruise Control Cooking

Since my parents came home from their travels (more than a month ago now), I have been trying to cook a meal for the family once a week in the efforts to hone my culinary skills. This is largely because I don't have any opportunities to cook unless my parents go away, which I'm not really complaining about since I love most of their food.

So Saturday nights are, funnily enough, the nights I decide to carry the torch of chefdom. (That's right, no bars or clubs for this girl!) I usually make a Greek salad in some shape or form, i.e. with or without quinoa. Tonight was no different. I made a simple Greek salad, a simple Caprese pasta salad, and breaded lemongrass pork chops, which was simple because they were pre-marinated. Luckily everything turned out well and the pork was cooked perfectly! I swear, my multi-course meals (if that's what you'd call them) taste better when I'm cooking a few things simultaneously. When my friend Smithie came over earlier this summer, I lucked out and made the best salmon I have ever made and I was not even really paying attention. WTML?!

Maybe this has something to do with implicit learning? Or, better yet, maybe cooking is in my genes...

No, I'm pretty sure it's the former.

PS. It's almost Sunday already?! Where does the time go? Worse still, it's almost September! Fo realz, yo!
