I mentioned almost two weeks ago that I would be saying goodbye to a cherished member of my entertainment family, my Bell TV HD-PVR. The sorrow is more directed toward its contents than its actual physical presence. I recorded all of my favourite Met productions of operas (thus far) on that PVR and never got to rewatch any of them before their departure tomorrow. Now the only way I can access them is to either buy them on DVD or subscribe to the Met Player--if they are released at all! (Where are you, Turandot starring Marina Poplavskaya?)
If work wasn't so busy, I would have taken a few vacation days to watch as much as I can. That is how much I love them.
At least I finally saw the Vietnam episode of Top Gear again with my parents this week. It's so hilarious and awesome.
Now I'm off to watch Madama Butterfly until the wee hours because my mom decided that yesterday's episode of The Tudors was more urgent than the opera I was waiting 2 months for to watch with them. Blargh.
[Update at 12:34AM - YES! I watched all of my favourite arias again. I feel a bit better now. And Madama Butterfly was amazing, miles better than the Vancouver Opera production, but I still couldn't help but fall asleep near the end since I was so sleepy...]
