I went to watch Shakespeare's Antony and Cleopatra in Vanier Park today with my dearest Smeeky. We hadn't seen each other in quite awhile due to our incompatible schedules so this was a treat for me, especially since we were carrying on our annual summer tradition of attending a play at Bard on the Beach!
We were not as eager as the people in front of the line to go in, only arriving at the venue 55 minutes prior. Only; but luckily, when we went to the mainstage tent, we spotted two unclaimed seats right in the centre. I ran to reserve them and then we sat down and chatted before the play. Normally we go through the program to point out the attractive actors (Pleuve told me she does this too!), but today, as luck would have it, I was instead struck by a handsome vision live and in the flesh--a fellow audience member who had Patrick Dempsey-esque hair (a bit long, wavy, and perfectly coiffed), tanned skin, and toned arms -- the outlines of which I could see through his shirt.
In other words: YUM-ZORZ.
Rarely do I see men such as these around Vancouver. And even rarer still do they SIT RIGHT NEXT TO ME. It turned out that his friend, who was a couple of seats to my left, had reserved the seat next to me for him. As you can imagine, I was making panic-faces at Smeek the whole time I realized that he would be adjacent to me. And during intermission. And at the end. And being the androphobe that I am, I could not bear to look at him during the whole duration of the play, except for a brief millisecond when I snuck a peek of his hands.
In short, no visual, vocal, or physical contact was made. But I enjoyed my first glimpse of him.
Oh, and the play was good!
hahaha Giosy you should've turned to him and said, "YOU ARE YUM-ZORZ!"
