I. Have. Been. So. Lazy. This. Week.
I have had minimal motivation, partly perhaps because of the dreary, wet, and grey weather we've had for the majority of the past two weeks, and partly also because it's one of those weeks where I feel like I have nothing to look forward to. No bright light at the end of the tunnel. If only I had an all-expenses paid trip to The Wizarding World of Harry Potter, aka "Harry Potter Land" to Nicky. A girl can dream, no?
My first paying gig is coming up on Saturday. I am singing Bach/Gounod's "Ave Maria" for a wedding procession and do not feel ready at all. I feel like I should be practicing at least an hour a day. I definitely need to get my act together, yo. I guess no vacuum cleaning tonight. Sorry, Dyson! And sorry, Smithie. (She doesn't read this but will be coming over tomorrow for an evening of cheesecake-making -- and now will need to put up with my Chiara-fur-filled carpets.)
I am so excited and nervous for this performance that the emotions cancel each other out and thus make me Swiss-neutral -- hence my lack of enthusiasm/drive for the week. But oh, how I love this song and that I will be accompanied by a harp! How often does someone get to sing with a harp? It takes music to a whole new level. It makes me feel, dare I say, almost angelic...
PS. I hope you like the new banner on my page! I didn't know it was possible (for me at least) until I saw that Nicky had put one up on her blog. Mine is of a picture I took in Florence when I went with Nicky-- gasp--two years ago. Tempus fugit!
PPS. Only one yoga class so far this week! I am sick to my stomach in yogic disappointment.
Good luck on your performance. I'm sure you'll do great!
