CLIV: Own (It)

I don't really know what "owning it" means, but being that 154 in Latin almost spells "Clive", I thought some kind of pun was necessary. So please tell me you get that it's a reference to a British actor. One that I've never felt particularly attracted to but nominally pun-worthy nonetheless.

I'm catching up on my reality shows, one of them being the American Idol finale (have only watched half, was mesmerized by Christina Aguilera's performance) and So You Think You Can Dance. I also saw (and fell asleep during) a documentary about Rufus Wainwright's opera Prima Donna; it was a total fluke that I recorded this, I was flipping through the satellite guide and thought "Hmm, this sounds interesting". It's a modern opera in French composed by a young Canadian/American singer-songwriter. Nicky, I remember you saying you love his pop music. I think I will/do too. His opera sounds really beautiful and I don't normally like modern opera (or art, for that matter). My favourite aria, and the only one they really show, is called Les feux d'artifice t'appellent ("The fireworks are calling you"). It's supposed to be for a soprano but I could only find videos of him performing it at his concerts.

The only reason I had so much time to watch TV was because I decided to take a few vacation hours off work this afternoon. By the time I woke up from dozing off and had a small cookie break, I was revitalized for voice class and got to sing some Carmen! It's surprising how much food and rest can help my singing...and mood.
