CLII: Soundtrack to My Soul

I've mentioned before that I need to absorb myself in some kind of activity while taking public transportation to prevent the awkwardness of eye contact with strangers. Today was no exception. I'm "in between books" right now (vs. "in between jobs", for which I am thankful) -- I'm saving myself for The Girl Who Kicked the Hornet's Nest whenever I can get my hands on a paperback/library copy -- so I have been dividing my transit energy between finishing up Antony and Cleopatra (a novel I probably started reading in late 2008) or listening to my iPod.

I love music. I love making playlists based on my current mood. I love turning these playlists into CDs for car trips or Smeek's enjoyment. So this morning, not being content in trying to fall asleep while listening to music, I decided to think up my next CD. Keep in mind that I have not downloaded any new music at all since I got Chloe; I fear the process of re-rating all my music after moving it from my desktop to laptop, as well as somehow losing some songs. Which means I have been accumulating titles and artists in my Moleskine since January. Now I have a weekend project! Huzzah!

In a quasi-well-thought-out order:
  1. The Temper Trap - Sweet Disposition
  2. Carla Bruni - Raphael
  3. Roisin Murphy - Ruby Blue
  4. The Script - Breakeven
  5. Manchester Orchestra - I Can Feel a Hot One
  6. Stars - Tonight
  7. Damien Rice - Elephant
  8. The Swell Season - Two Tongues
  9. Nelly Furtado - All Good Things Come to an End
  10. The Cinematic Orchestra - To Build a Home
  11. Adele - Make You Feel My Love
  12. Paolo Nutini - Tricks of the Trade
  13. Ray Lamontagne - Be Here Now
  14. Skin - Tear Down These Houses
  15. Kathleen Edwards - Good Things
  16. Nic Chagall - This Moment
  17. Gary Go - Wonderful
  18. Damien Rice - The Animals Were Gone
Potential additions if there's enough room (songs TBD):
  1. Little Boots
  2. Regina Spektor
  3. Dan Mangan
  4. Arcade Fire
  5. Miracle Fortress
  6. more Paolo Nutini!
And in case you're wondering, yes, my iPod has a name and it is Iggy Menta, based on its colour alone.
