Judging from today's blog number, you'd think I would have had a super-sexy day. Granted, the day is not over yet, but who are we kidding? I am just going to finish writing this, drink some hot water, shower, take 30 minutes to choose my outfit for tomorrow, and go to sleep. My evening routine. I don't even have time for TV on weeknights anymore (other than Jeopardy and the occasional American Idol.) Egad!
One of my New Year's resolutions was to make more eye contact with men. This has not happened. Instead, I have continued my Japanese-stereotype-submissive ways of looking down while I walk and/or pretending that passersby do not exist by shifting my gaze past them rather than at them. (*Groan* I just googled Japanese submissive women and came across some not-so-clean sites...and other sites that said that Japanese women aren't submissive anymore. I guess it's just me!) I hope this doesn't make me appear to be a cold person, as all I really am is shy with strangers. This resolution, thus, is still a work in progress...
Does anyone else find being on any form of public transportation really awkward, or is it just me? If I don't have a book to read on the bus and I'm in a side-facing seat, I will pretend to go to sleep (and eventually fall asleep) so that I can avoid staring out the window across from me. Because if someone's sitting there I don't want them to think I'm staring at them, and I don't want them to think I'm rude. Or when you're standing in the middle of the Skytrain and it's underground and you've already read all of the (boring) ads, where are you supposed to look? You can only check your watch or cellphone so many times. And if one hand is gripping the pole for support and your other hand is carrying a bag, your eyes are left to their own devices.
So no, today was not a sexy day. Maybe it could have been if I tried to push my limits. But I'm glad to know that I'm not alone.

Hahaha I like how the person who wrote that article doesn't wear her glasses when she goes out! Reminds me of a certain person ;)
ReplyDeleteWhen I am on public transportation I like to watch people around me. But since I don't like eye contact, I look away once I see them looking back at me. I have shifty eyes.
