XXVIII: I Vagabondi

Up until a month ago, I had to be very vigilant with my texting habits since I only had 125 per month. I won't enlighten you on the cell phone bill charges of July '09. Let's just say that I never want to pay that much extra again.

On my bus ride home today from yoga, the travelling sisters and I exchanged a complex, interwoven conversation amongst one another via texting. It was a welcome distraction from a boring chapter of Gulliver's Travels (which I have been struggling to finish since December) and my fingers definitely got a workout. I am so happy that I can freely respond to whatever thought, anecdote, or idea comes my way.

The best one of the night (since Anna, aka Numz, doesn't normally come up with good ideas):
Ragazze, I've decided that Giosy needs a leather jacket so that we can start a gang.
The wheels in my head are already turning on what to name this gang of travelling sisters. I'm pretty sure we'll be the "Vagabondi". Doesn't it sound mysterious and like the members of said gang should be bound in leather? (And FYI, the G in Vagabondi should be pronounced as it would in the English equivalent "vagabond". I know a seventeen year old who has pronounced it otherwise and who started a bout of infectious laughter as a result.)

Plus it kind of has connotations of Bond, James Bond, no?

  1. don't think we're joking, Giosy--you NEED to get a leather jacket because we NEED to start a gang.

I'm totally fine with Vagabondi :)
