Umm...well, not exactly like that, though I do love that song.
Tonight marked a long awaited dinner with Pleuve and my travelling sisters. We had not been together since Pleuve left for Paris at the end of the summer; and, her having just arrived yesterday, along with an as-yet uncelebrated birthday for Numz, we trekked out to White Rock for terrific sushi at Sho Chiku.
Remember this place? You must, because I think about it regularly. It's in my top 2 Japanese restaurants and tonight was only my second time dining in.
My favourites were the French Kiss Roll (this goes without question) as well as the salmon sashimi. The latter was so fresh and perfectly textured that I regretted not ordering more. YUM-ZORZ.
And of course, I only remembered that I had wanted to document this with my camera Uzi (that I had made a point to bring out!) after we had finished our late dinner. Arghhhhh...
It was wonderful to catch up with everyone but I was fully conscious of the time as I had two dark clouds of possibly impending doom looming over my head:
- Transferring at Columbia Skytrain Station from Expo to Millennium Line - the story behind this is that after going to Pleuve's birthday party during high school (a whopping--gulp--nine years ago as RaeRae calculated), I was standing on the Columbia platform for well over 30 minutes waiting for a Millennium Line train to come. It never did so I ended up having to skytrain to Metrotown and then take a bus to Brentwood Mall. It was a freezing January evening and the frustration left an impression on me, so you can see why I was antsy about having to encounter this station again.
- Coming back to a ticketed/towed parked car at Brentwood Town Centre - earlier in the evening, I decided to park at the mall and then skytrain to Surrey (to be graciously picked up by Numz). I was worried that I'd be penalized for overstaying my parking upon my return.
Luckily everything worked out. No 30-minute wait-time, no ticket. Phew.
