August is just around the corner--have you noticed her peeking her lazy head?
I cannot believe that the summer has gone by so quickly, faster than most summers in fact, and it's probably due to the fact that I've been working all summer, give or take 2 "vacation days" that were spent at home, not vacationing or playing the Sims (I haven't played for months! I don't even remember all my plans for them now!) It's one of the only travel-less summers I've ever had. Strange.
Have you accomplished everything you set out to do this summer? I don't think I have. My goals included going on a two-wheeled vehicle of some sort (I wanted to rent a scooter and go around Stanley Park but was informed by a friend that I should probably relearn to ride a bike first), as well as spending some time on the beach, preferably not burning. I have, however, gotten my first mani-pedi, continued going to yoga and voice classes, and made money (as well as spent money).
I also got to sing at a wedding yesterday, though it did not go as smoothly as I wanted. I had a case of my throat closing up right as I was about to start singing -- maybe I had strained it too much from practicing, maybe it was plain old nerves -- and so for a few moments my mind was filled with panic because I didn't want to screw up on my friend's big day. I was not that pleased with it considering it had gone much better at rehearsal on Monday, but I'm definitely starting to see that there are "on" and "off" days with singing. Some days the high notes come so easy, irrespective of how much I practice, and other days it's a struggle.
Friends, I want to see you more often next month. Promise me that we can make this happen!
