Okay, enough of the short-lived music series. I realized that most of the songs I mentioned were not even ones that I would give 5/5 stars to on my iPod.
So this is how it goes: another sleep-deprived night, another day, another yoga class. Except that the Vancouver weather is finally catching up with the time (it is summer, after all), which means several things: wearing flip flops and sunglasses to/from work, occasional lunches by the water, skirts, no more blazers/jackets, general happiness, long days, a potential tan, and a heightened sense of the travel bug. Oh, how I miss being on vacation! It's already been over a year since Europe and there's still no sense of a cure. I love Vancouver summers, don't get me wrong, but I also love having free time. And there doesn't seem to be enough free time in a week when work and commutes are involved. Plus it seems wrong to take vacation time and just spend it at home.
But, my friends, have you looked at the calendar lately? Next week is already mid-July. Meaning August is almost upon us. As in the summer is already slipping away.
A wise movie character named Ferris Bueller once said, "Life moves pretty fast. If you don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it."
Summers move at the speed of light. One blink and it's gone.
