CXCVII: Mafia vs. Espionage

I attended my friend's games night and enjoyed playing Cranium Wow, Taboo, and Mafia...not Trivial Pursuit Pop Culture. I ended up losing every game but had such a blast in the process. I would choose intimate house parties over drunken nights out any day. Unless the drunkenness was caused by a natural high of some sort, and I would have an easy way of getting home...

Tonight's biggest challenge was not a snooker-related Factoid question but having to conceal my identity as a secret mafiosa in our first Mafia game (of two). I am not good at lying or suppressing laughter when wittily provoked, which makes me bad at Mafia or Graveyard, a game I played as a child in summer daycamp where someone would go around trying to make people (or "corpses") laugh. It was too easy a defeat.

I'm equally bad at coming up with spontaneous excuses or defences. All in all, it's a recipe for a Mafia disaster.

And this is why one of my secret dreams of being an international superspy will never be--lack of acting and verbal improvisation ability, as well as the fact that I just gave away one of my secrets willingly. Or maybe I am playing mind games with you. (No, that would require too much logic and thinking.)
