CXCVI: La vie sexy

If you think back on my day of uninspiration, you may appreciate today's title just that much more. It had to be in French for that reason alone.

I have no idea what the sexy life would entail. I envision Angelina Jolie--she is my ultimate girl crush after all. Funny how my mind gravitated to a woman instead of a man though...I have no explanation for this.

And yet, when I think about the essence of sexiness, I think of a woman. To me, it is something "she" would exude better than "he". I am enamoured by French women speaking French. It somehow supersedes Italian men speaking Italian. It's just beautiful in itself. Maybe "sexy" and my idea of "beauty" are intrinsically tied together. And beauty is Woman.

There are many things I find sexy about certain men though. These include (and are not limited to):

• a great sense of humour (yes, this is fundamental to his appeal), e.g. Craigy
• ambition -- though not the type that makes him ruthless in the quest for his goal
• quiet confidence -- no egoists, please!
• knowledge/intelligence -- he knows more than me and/or is able to teach me about things I would not have found out without him (and vice versa for the latter); at the same time, he doesn't make me feel stupid
• passion/creativity

Looks may help initially but I recently realized that if he doesn't have the personality to back it up, it's futile. Similarly, a great personality makes him more attractive. I often heard people say this but didn't believe it until I experienced it for myself.
