CXXVII: I Dreamed a Dream

...and forgot about it shortly thereafter.

For the past two nights, I've been having very vivid dreams. They were strange and random and I was looking forward to sharing them with you. I could remember Wednesday night's dream for most of Thursday, but unfortunately, either as an effect of sleep-deprivation or the general decline of my memory (likely both), this morning my mind quickly erased all traces of both Wednesday and Thursday's dreams. Blargh! Ach! Zut!

This is what happens when I don't write things down. Oh, don't get me wrong, if bus schedules are involved, for some reason my brain will allow me to retain the exact minute of departure (upon researching the previous night). But when it's something more important like running an urgent errand for relatives (someone had to phone me tonight from Italy to remind me) or remembering who I told what or the events of the past week, I am hopeless. Unless it's something truly random or unimportant that you mentioned eons ago that I found particularly amusing but has no real value to you, me, or our relationship.

From now on, I am naming my condition damnesia. Where's a pensieve when you need one?

P.S. I just googled it and found out that apparently this word already exists. Damn.
