CXVI: Feet of Endurance

Pun intended! As they always are:)

I woke up many times this morning because of a piercing/throbbing pain in my fourth toe on my left foot. I won't describe the way it looks to you, not that it's anything disgusting. Actually, while we're on the subject of gross toes, I once dropped a heavy steel rod on my right big toe when building an office chair. The shade of blue that ensued for days/weeks later resembled that of a blue gummy whale candy.

Imagine this shade of blue on a big toe. Mmm, appetizing.

So as I was saying, my fourth toe was really bothering me. It's probably my fault because I bandaged it up tightly last night in a (futile) effort to cure it faster, since I have a blister there from all the full and long days of walking in NYC with inappropriate footwear.

Between the bouts of pain, I noticed that my thighs were really sore and I couldn't fathom why. It took me a good ten minutes to figure out that it was because I had done the Sun Run yesterday. (Hey, it was 2:45am and/or 4:00am in the morning. You would be slow too.) And since I had been away from work for a bit over a week, I made sure I started almost an hour early so that I could sort through all 70 new emails. I ended up having a 10-hour workday because I had a teleconference at 5pm.

All that being said, I cannot wait to go to sleep tonight. It has been one long and productive day. Heal, toe!
