CCLXXXIII: Boredom Striketh Thrice

Here I was thinking that a three-day weekend would fly by, when instead it was almost snail-like in its exit. Wow. Blame me for not having made more plans or being overconfident in what I had to amuse myself at home on a rainy day. My long-ignored past game-addiction the Sims 3 was taken up yesterday afternoon after what was perhaps a one-year hiatus, only to be tossed out from my list of entertainment choices once again today. (How could you deny me, Sims?! After all I've done for you!)

Nothing on TV looked appealing, nothing on the computer interested me; even my body would not feel tired enough to take a nap. WTML?!

So I resorted to sitting at the piano and singing to myself in an empty house (my favourite venue). It was actually fun, especially when I just watched a replay of the Met's 2009 transmission of Puccini's La Rondine last night, a beautiful opera I knew nothing about other than this one gorgeous aria (go to 2:30) my teacher taught me a month ago, titled "Chi il bel sogno di Doretta". It has been stuck in my head all day. I would be much happier if I memorized all of the words already...

On another positive note, one of the best parts of the weekend was that I made myself a chai latté each day. And I got to spend lots of time with Chiara.

Hmm, this is shaping up to make me appear to be a whiny and slightly-disturbed cat-lady. I do not like the picture Boredom paints of me and will try to avoid his presence in the near future. I'm so relieved that I have work tomorrow!
