CCLXVI: Piscine Afterthoughts

I just got off the phone with my mom and she asked me if I saw any good looking men at the conference. Funnily enough, this was not on my mind today. You'd think it would be since I never see any at work!

The conference has gone well so far despite a few slight hiccups. People are very friendly and it's a pity we only see each other once a year. My favourite part of the day, other than our wine and cheese reception (OMG I love the maple BBQ salmon stix they served!), was the keynote speaker who talked about the FISH! Philosophy. She was engaging, entertaining, and bubbly, and during her bio she explained that she sang opera for seven years. She even sang a few snippets of La Traviata to make the audience understand that opera was created for people to project the drama in their lives.

To encourage audience participation, she threw stuffed animal fish to people who answered her questions à la fish market at Pike Place in Seattle. One woman who answered with equal parts of enthusiasm to the speaker was awarded a giant stuffed animal fish named Pete, whom we had fawned over at the office a couple of weeks ago when he was shipped to us.

Deena (the speaker) ended up having a few extra small fish and gave them to me. So, friends, I'd like to introduce you to Archie.

My curtains made for the perfect staging of this picture

He will be a gift for my mom who appreciates fish more than me.

And just think, at this time tomorrow I will be FREE!!!!!
