My core instructor was discussing attrition rates in the army and how he will know when he's pushing us too far if a certain percentage isn't doing an exercise. He said he wanted us to get stronger and tougher. Then, while balancing our weight in our arms with our hands on blocks, he said, "JB, I want to see you push people out of the way when you walk down the street!"
I don't know how likely that's going to start happening, but to know that I will have bulging biceps that instil fear is both funny and terrifying. Rest assured, I would never work out regularly and strenuously enough for those kinds of rippling results; nor would I ever want that type of body anyway.
When I go rock climbing, sometimes I see women with these RIPPED back and shoulder muscles. I am in awe of them... I want to be ripped! But not so much that it's unsightly
