LXXXV: Meat (and Guilt)-Free Easter

I mentioned on Good Friday that, contrary to my Catholic upbringing, I ate meat. Lots of it, really. More than any normal day. So it was about time that the guilt set in and I vowed not to have any meat today. And it's good that I declared it to Nicky and my parents because they prevented me from caving in.

Around 4:30pm, Nicky and I strolled into Donair King after yoga class on our way to cross the Burrard Street Bridge and it took me a lot of strength to avoid getting a chicken donair, especially since I've been craving one for months. Instead, I treated my lunchless stomach to baklava. It was yummy.

For dinner, I was ready to give up for a plate of my dad's lasagne, but he said he had something special planned for us since I wasn't going to eat meat. This comprised of:
  • Mezze Lune (ravioli) in a sage-butter sauce - I love President's Choice!
  • Breaded and fried cauliflower
  • Prawns (Pleuve!), scallops, and sole in tomato sauce
I'm going to miss having my meals cooked for me in one and a half months!

  1. Okay, I need to say something about prawns...and here it is. THERE ARE RARELY ANY PRAWNS IN PARIS! Wait for it....wait for it.....WHAT THE MILLY LEAF!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?
I am in prawn withdrawal. I need prawns now! Of course they sell prawns--but the ones that have not been skinned. I do not wish to peel my prawns. So I am currently on the hunt for frozen peeled prawns. Oh Paris, how it deprives me of my favourite food.
