CIX: New York Awaits

It's 11:54pm as I start typing this, and I have yet to put anything in my luggage. I have a few piles of clothes on my bed but my clothing choices are still incomplete as, judging by the way it looks now, I'll only have one top. I have other articles of clothing folded and ready too, but just one top.

Did I mention I still have to finish packing, shower, and wake up for work tomorrow? My flight will be a redeye late tomorrow night and I will arrive to the hustle and bustle of New York City at 7:00am on Friday. Let's see how rush hour treats me on the subway.

It is with a bit of sadness that I have to take a break from blogging while I'm away. It would have been nice to upload my favourite picture of the day and share my experience with you all. But the logistics of bringing Chloe with me seemed unnecessary. And, let's face it, I will be too busy partying every night.

Okay, that was a lie. Plus I shouldn't be wandering the streets of New York by myself past midnight. Especially since I'll be living in Spanish Harlem.

Thanks to those of you who have phoned or emailed me the past few days. It's funny how much more effort we put into communicating with our friends when they're about to go away. It must be the whole notion of wanting something or someone more when you can't have them. And you guys have made me feel very wanted (and loved).

But I'm sorry, you can't have me for the next week because I will be entangled in the arms of my new lover, and his initials are NYC.
