But for the last few months, I've been trying to take it slow, and if not slow then I've been trying to stop eating a bit before I felt full. And this has been working for me. Until it all went out the window tonight.
What started with a craving for wonton noodles at one of my family's favourite Chinese restaurants, Ho Yuen Kee, turned into a typical over-ordering on my mom's part and a feeling of compulsion to finish up certain dishes. We ended up getting (I've been using bullets a lot this week! And apologies for the romanization of Chinese, I rarely look at the English translations on a menu):
- Shredded chicken with jellyfish
- Lo sui duck
- Tofu with vegetables and mushrooms
- Wonton noodles
- Ho fun noodles with egg and beef
- Almond tea/milk
- Silken tofu with ginger syrup
I wasn't even that hungry to begin with, and yeah, we brought home some leftovers, but man was I FULL! And it has been so long since I felt that full. It reminds me of why I stopped overeating.
And when we got home I just could not imagine going to sleep in my state, so what did we do? Watch tonight's American Idol (PVR'd, I can't stand all the wasted time on commercials!) and an old episode of Project Runway.
Here I am, close to 11:30pm, and I have to wake up around 5:00am for yoga. I swear, it is impossible to get more than 6.5 hours of sleep during the week!
American Idol favourites tonight: Michael "Big Mike" Lynch (I can't believe he made Kara cry!) and Tim Lambert (not based on tonight's performance but as a whole).
i always overeat! then i feel sick and sleepy after. i went to bed early last night so i could get a good nights sleep, then after i had breakfast they changed my shift to closing! so now my eating pattern for today is all messed up (middle shift = big breakfast, late lunch; closing shift = brunch, early dinner) and now i dont know if i should eat an extra meal or not! hmm
