Twelve-Hour Day

The big conference is tomorrow and I'm lucky to have a hotel room for the next two nights. This is living the dream in downtown Vancouver--or it would be...if work wasn't involved.

Today was a 12-hour workday which started and ended at 9:30. Things weren't too crazy in the office and setup at the hotel was pretty straightforward too, though I don't think I've ever used so many tacks in my life. It was nice to bump into one of the nurses from out of town that I work with and to have dinner with the girls who have been organizing this conference. They happen to be in the thick of a coconut water craze and I very willingly surrendered to its refreshing taste and thirst-quenching ways. This may be the new religion in our office.

I was happiest to be visited by Boy for a stroll around downtown and a stop for pumpkin pecan pie at The Templeton (site of midnight pie on Jazzmance weekend). He gets to enjoy a taste of the high life too tonight! I'm just worried about the 6:00am wakeup call tomorrow.
