Bahamas at the Rio Theatre

Boy and I finally got to see Bahamas together tonight. I had tried to take him with me back in March and was dismayed at finding out on that rainy night that it was sold out, meaning I was the only one with a ticket. It ended up being a fantastic show--one of my favourite of the year--and when I found out he was coming back to Vancouver I quickly purchased two tickets for us.

It was my first time seeing a show at the Rio Theatre and we got there just in time to get a couple of aisle seats in the back. Had we arrived ten or fifteen minutes later we would have had to get cosy with strangers.

And Bahamas wowed me as much as they had months previous. Their sound was wonderful, and I very much appreciated his two Mad Men-esque backup singers, each with an incredible voice. Boy highly approved of Alfie's guitar technique (phew!) and I just didn't want the music to end. They did a couple of encores, the last of which was an almost a cappella song featuring his backup singers, giving them some time to shine in the spotlight and really show off their pipes.

I would most definitely go to his next local show...and the one after that...and the one after that.
