Or, as I would like to think of it, "Freezing Night".
Tonight, I finally got to meet the last of Boy's close friends, SW. They both love Halloween so I suggested going to PNE's Fright Nights together. I had never been and I wanted to get into the ghoulish spirit.
We each wore one of SW's animal hats (which were admired by the actors hired to scare park-goers). She had a bunny hat, Boy had an abominable snowman hat, and I had a teddy bear one. Mine served me well as it had furry arms to wrap around my neck for warmth as it was a very cold night indeed.
In a couple of hours, we managed to go on a few rides and wait in line to enter one haunted house. I may have ruined the experience for them as I was extremely cautious in entering each room, and instead of being scared I would just interact with the actors as if we were having a small chat in line for a coffee--not that I am ever in line for coffee or chat with people in such lines.
My poor reaction skills were revealed yet again when an actor put his face very close to mine, and I slowly turned with no scream at all. Later on, I had a stare-down with another actor in the middle of the park, and managed to not crack a smile at all. I wonder what came over me.
At the end of the night we watched a fire dancing show. What amused me was that of the two main male guys in this zombie-themed show, only one was in character and the other was not--and what a difference that made, let alone the distraction it created!
So maybe Fright Nights wasn't for me, but at least I got to meet SW, exchange some loved music with her later on in the car, and experience the PNE with Boy.
