Boy took us out for a short drive by Spanish Banks and Pacific Spirit Regional Park this morning followed by a late breakfast at Solly's. Their sweet potato knish was delish! (Rhyme intended.)
Tonight my parents are throwing a Thanksgiving dinner for eight. The turkey is 7.57 kg which is more than double my birthweight--not that there should be any comparison between the two. Also on the menu are prosciutto, asparagus, mashed potatoes, pasta (I helped Giagi chop the onions and carrots for the sauce into tiny pieces), and a huge Costco pumpkin pie. The smell of the turkey has been wafting through the air into the gap under my door and into my room. I haven't had much of an appetite for the past couple of weeks but suddenly I feel ravenous.
| Mamma mia, that's a huge turkey! And a tiny watermelon! |
| The table is set and ready for dinner. Ignore the creepy lady's face on the TV. |
This year, Thanksgiving doesn't seem very autumny due to the summer weather...which I am thankful for. On top of that, I am grateful for the wonderful people in my life, Giagi's mending health, yoga, and having had a six-day weekend. I am not ready to go back to work tomorrow.
