CCXLII: Chiara's First Year

Last night, as I settled into bed with Chiara nestled by my feet, I suddenly realized that it had been her one year anniversary of living with us and I had not commemorated the occasion in any way. Instead, I loudly announced it to my parents as they were about to sleep and smiled happily at my dear cat for having given me so much.

I could not have asked for a more well-behaved and affectionate pet, despite what some friends think (ahem, Smeek!). She greets me when I come home, she races me up the stairs, she jumps on my lap when I watch TV, and she does this all in her adorable self.

I would only change two things about her:

1. Revert back to the days when her pupils were the same size.
2. Not have high blood pressure.
3. Let me hold her for longer than two seconds.

Okay, maybe three things. But I love her nonetheless.
