CCXLIX: Turbo Dog

I had the intention of going to Core class today with my favourite core instructor at 7:00am, which would have required a 5:20am wakeup call. But then Sleep won me over, even as I got ready for bed last night, and so I had to resort to the slight guilt of inactivity. I don't like going more than 2-3 days without yoga. It's like a feel-good drug that I don't mind being addicted to.

It was probably all for the best since I had a very full and long day at work--the fullest and longest this year, at least according to my faint recollection. Our biggest event, an annual conference in Downtown held for a specific group of health care professionals, is coming up in 17 days and so crunch time is beginning. Add onto that all of my normal admin duties and you get an almost overwhelming, spilling-over-the-plate, amount of work.

This is good though. I like busy. I just don't like it when I can't focus my energy on one thing at a time.

My core instructor makes us do this move called the "turbo dog". It's like a downward dog except tougher because you bend your knees and elbows so that they hover a few inches off the ground. He makes us hold this position while singing the turbo dog theme song, which is essentially repeating the words "turbo dog" in the tune of the Spiderman theme song.

My next three weeks will be a mental turbo dog of sorts. Except without the fun music.
