X Factor: Season 2

Remember last year when I wrote about every episode of The X Factor? Well, things have been feeling lacklustre this season. From the subpar hosts to Britney's lack of critique to Demi's age as a mentor (even though she is my doppelganger) to too many dance numbers, bad song choices, and overhyped acts, I have not been enjoying this season at all.

The two standout performances for me so far have been:

Paige Thomas singing "Paradise" for her survival in the competition.

Carly Rose Sonenclar singing "Somewhere Over the Rainbow". This thirteen year-old continues to blow me away with her rich tone, control, and maturity. She has a stunning voice for any age.

My favourite performances from the judges' homes were:

Fifth Harmony's first performance together, singing "Impossible".

Beatrice Miller singing "Titanium". She seemed to lose her sparkle as soon as she got into the live performance shows. But this performance at Britney's house proved how much soul a thirteen year-old can have.

It seems to be a season for the ladies of X Factor. I know whom I want to see eliminated this week...
