XIX: Balancing Act

It's a tough thing, balancing on one foot. It's even tougher if you have to do the tree pose (pictured left)... especially when you're drenched in sweat during hot yoga. I attempted this today and could hold it for about ten seconds until my legs gave way. This yoga business certainly is tough on my wrists and ankles!

6:30 am now holds the record for the earliest class I have ever taken, but it was definitely worth waking up at 4:45 am for...I just don't know if I can do this 3-5 times per week.

Tomorrow will be my one day off from yoga this week. I apologize for its domination of my blog, but it's really all I've been doing this week other than working, eating, and sleeping--and I simply don't have anything interesting to write about those activities.

Wow. I almost forgot that I am taking the Jeopardy Online Contestant Test tonight. If I didn't look at the clock, I wouldn't have thought that Jeopardy is starting in a few minutes, and if I didn't think of that, I would not have thought of the test! It will be my first time trying out as an adult vs. college student, so I don't think I will fare particularly well. But being a contestant on Jeopardy is one of the five things I want to do before I die. Here is the full list:
  1. Fall in love
  2. Sing with a live orchestra
  3. Be a (winning) contestant on Jeopardy
  4. Live and work in Italy
  5. Learn to paint
These life goals are not particularly difficult to achieve to the average person -- it's not like wanting to cure cancer or fly to the moon -- but they each would fulfill a different part of me in ways unimaginable, and that is what makes them the stars for which I reach.

And who knows? Perhaps tonight I will be one step closer to #3...

  1. Giosy, if you get a spot on Jeopardy, I will announce it to anyone who will listen! I hope you make it on. If you do, please don't jab at your button with so much force that you look constipated. I just saw another guy do that last night!

I'm sure #1 will come in due time. Perhaps it'll happen when you're learning to paint or living and working in Italy or singing with a live orchestra ;)

remember to contract your muscles and lock your knees, so they won't buckle!

  3. HAHAHAHAHAHAHA aww you guys. i would rather not have him also be named alex trebek. that would cut out a lot of my OPTIONS.

raerae, it's not my knees that are the problem, it's my relatively skinny ankles (but not as skinny as nicky's).
