Once in awhile, all you need is a lazy weekend. I am relieved that I can finally have one this week. I have been sleep-deprived for much too long, partly due to the introduction of Chloe into my life, and also because I don't think there are enough hours in the evening after work. I am behind on all my TV (ten episodes left of The Late, Late Show with Craig Ferguson to watch...plus around thirty of Top Gear; then a bunch of movies) and am therefore taking this opportunity to get a bit caught up on my entertainment and sleep. I had a nap today between episodes of Craig. Sigh. I love him. He was performing (twice!) at the River Rock Casino last night and is in Coquitlam tonight. I would've so been there if all his shows weren't sold out. Oh Craigy!
I could've been lazier today, but I woke up around 8:00am to get ready to watch Les Contes d'Hoffmann with my travelling sister Numz. It was my second time seeing this transmission of the opera from the Met's Live in HD Series (a cinematic event that I have already enthusiastically touched upon here). Les Contes is four hours long in total, including two 15-minute intermissions and various interviews. But even though I liked this enough to pay to watch it in theatres a second time, after watching Carmen last week, it pales in comparison. God, I loved Carmen. I am really thinking about watching it again (despite having heard that it will be released on DVD), so if anyone would like to join me on March 13th, we can get our tickets together!
As for now, I'm looking forward to sleeping in tomorrow. I better not automatically wake up early...
i love lazy weekends! i hope you get to sleep in till noon. i'm spending my weekend working...and watching taylor swift videos! haha how sad is that
ReplyDeletei think you should watch the Top Gear episodes I gave you Giosy, and then you can work your way back from there.
ReplyDeletei love lazy weekends as well, but i automatically woke up at 9am today! blasted! i did not intend for that to happen at all. i'm also still suffering from uneven eyelid syndrome. it has been a week, and sleep is clearly not a remedy.
