MacPollo

The fries theme continues...

I went to McDonald's with a friend after work today after telling her about the Malcolm Gladwell podcast episode re: fries (referred to by me just the other day).  It was my first McDonald's meal of the year and I was amazed to see that people could now order from a touchscreen.  In no way was it saving time, but it was definitely saving some from social contact.

After a series of taps, I ordered a McChicken, medium fries, and medium Coke.  I was surprised to see that "McChicken" is spelled "MacPoulet" in French.  Why not "McPoulet"?  I Googled my question and found nothing, both in English or French.  It isn't spelled "MacDonald's" in France--they actually shorten it to "McDo"--so why "MacPoulet"?

What amused me more was the thought that in Spanish, it would be "MacPollo", which would be a cute name for a dog. 

Alas, it is "McPollo".  But a girl can dream...
