Garda

Garda on August 26th, 2011

I have had the great fortune of visiting Lago di Garda (Lake Garda) a few times in the past three years. This is a photograph I took on my most recent trip there in a town named after the lake (or is the lake named after the town?). We passed by for a passeggiata on our way back from Alto-Adige/the Dolomites.

Nearby is another town named Limone sul Garda (literally "Lemon on Lake Garda") where I was told by my aunt that the residents are among the healthiest in Italy with a longer-than-normal life expectancy. You can read more about their "mutation" on Wikipedia.

Lago di Garda is, to many, Italy's most beautiful lake.
