At first I didn't think I'd be able to find anything since a quick glance at the online store directory wasn't impressive; however, it quickly exceeded my expectations as I found top upon top, and even some shoes!
My first stop was the most successful: Fiorella Rubino. I had never heard of this shop before and started picking random knitwear in the sale section. To my surprise, I wasn't a size M as I am in Vancouver but an XS or S! This, on top of the 70% off, made my day. I managed to get 4 tops, all made in Italy, for under €80!
Then I went next door to Bagatt, a shoe store I enjoyed frequenting during my last trip to Milan. At first I was attracted to a pair of black leather boots but they didn't have my size, so I browsed around and later found two pairs of shoes that I liked. Each pair was 50% off at €40--and they're both made in Italy as well! Beat that, $70+ made-in-China-shoes that fill the shelves in Vancouver.
I really don't know what it is about Italy or being abroad, but I seem to make my purchasing decisions much quicker.
Then I went to Benetton and my aunt got me a top and a really cute dress that were on sale (less than €30 altogether).
saldi is definitely one of my favourite Italian words.
