What I did while I waited for the fumes to clear:
- Singlehandedly move my large TV to its new spot on the TV stand.
- Find a place for Klackbo, the chair everyone thought was new but that had actually followed my bed with me on my move (the only two pieces of furniture I had from my old room).
- Stand and observe furniture pensively to determine what would look best.
- Watch two episodes of Mad Men (season 6).
- Move Hermes to its spot on new desk.
- Worry about my waxen hand.
- Shower.
Since my furniture came, my place feels different. And by that I don't mean positively. I have close family friends who do Feng Shui, and I don't think I believe in it, but something seems a bit wonky, and I can't quite put my finger on it. Maybe my living room is suddenly crowded with stuff and that is throwing me off balance. Who knows?
Prancine and I visited The Cross in Yaletown during our lunch break today and the shop's recent expansion/renovations are fantastic. It is my go-to store for cards. They have exquisite housewares and jewellery but everything is outside my budget. That being said, I saw a really cute laundry hamper for around $130 and I am set on purchasing it at some point. Not this year due to vacations and my recent online shopping frenzy, but soon. I am learning to let myself sleep on these impulsive consumerist urges instead of giving in to them immediately. And if I forget about things then I know they aren't a necessity.
This week has been going by incredibly slowly.
