Furniture!

I had lost hope. I had no expectations. And then, they were deliverèd! Around 4:15pm, I received a message from West Coast Country Designs saying that they had left their home and were on their way. It had seemed iffy as they were trying to arrange child care and had not been able to reach their nanny.

At 5:00pm, my six new pieces arrived. I was told to wax my TV stand before using it as it was a newer piece of furniture and the paint didn't adhere as well. So after I went out for dinner at Santouka (yumzorz!) with Rainbow, I came home and got started on almost three hours of waxing. It was very labour intensive as I had to buff every surface of each piece, and the fumes were getting to me. But I wanted to get it all done right away so that I wouldn't need to do it again.

Clockwise from left: TV stand, desk and chair, dresser, and one of two night tables
Word to the wise: read the safety precautions first. I had seen the poison label on the can but spoke with one of the furniture people and was told that it's only poisonous if you eat it. After I had finished everything, I read the label and realized that it was also a skin irritant and that rubber gloves are recommended. Luckily my skin didn't react, it just felt like there was a layer of wax on it. But I won't make a stupid mistake like that next time!

I've started to rearrange my furniture and still am not sure if I've chosen the best configuration, but I'm excited that Villetta is starting to look more like a home.
