Spurred on by a colleague, I just spent over $100 online for bath and face products from 100% Pure. And I can't wait for them to arrive! If there's one thing I like buying, it's cosmetics.
On Saturday, Boy and I explored my new neighbourhood and made a few discoveries:
- Mint: a home furnishings store for what Boy calls "the rich hipster". They had beautiful things that I cannot afford, such as this beautiful chair (if that's the correct one, it looks much better in person)
- Cafe Bica: great coffee and a cool little spot just across from my favourite Greek restaurant, Apollonia. Their motto on the door is "Festina lente", which my loyal readers will remember is Latin for "Make haste slowly" (tibi ago gratias, Florentia).
- Meuse: a boutique I have seen on many drives down West Fourth. I finally entered and, though not captivated by their clothes, really liked their shabby chic / French farmhouse pieces (furniture and jewellery boxes).
I ended up buying a grey knit hat from Meuse, a Moleskine journal from Avalon Stationary, four felt coasters from Casa, a pair of vintage earrings from Second Suit, and chopsticks at Motiv.
My next desired purchase, other than my delayed custom furniture, is a pair of camel coloured leather oxfords or boots. Finding shoes in this town at a reasonable price will prove to be difficult!
