Last night I had a rude awakening. I was sitting on my couch Ottanio and watching Mad Men, and I felt my stomach and realized how squishy it had become. Unbelievably squishy. As in perhaps squishier than when I started yoga a few years ago. It didn't stop me from eating a few teaspoonfuls of Nutella with milk last night, but today I decided to continue on my wave of change and start being more conscious about my bad eating habits that have developed. These are:
- having dessert after every dinner
- drinking sweet beverages with dinner (I used to only have hot water! How did this happen?!)
- eating my meals on the couch in front of the TV
- not having enough fruits or vegetables. My diet when left to fend for myself is primarily pasta, followed by tomatoes.
So tonight I drank some of my leftover smoothie while cooking, ate dinner at my kitchen table with hot water to drink, and took my time eating while I typed away in Italian. And I shall not let myself have any dessert!
However, should one ever want to know what desserts I like to keep in my fridge for semi-prolonged consumption (I have realized that I have much more self-control than many of my peers, as in I won't eat a lot of one thing in a day), they are pie of the pumpkin or bumbleberry variety and a DQ Oreo blizzard cake with extra oreos and extra cookie crumble. In September, I had in my possession a small Whole Foods pumpkin pie thanks to Boy, and from October 3-28 I had a DQ Oreo blizzard birthday cake, also from Boy. He knows I love my desserts!
I guess I ended up writing a fair amount after all.
PS. I went to hot yoga!
