I am sitting here at the kitchen table, flanked by a freshly made fruit smoothie to my left and the glowing start of sunset to my right. Renée Fleming is serenading me on my stereo (her rendition of Gershwin's "
Summertime" has just come on) and I feel at peace after taking a half-day vacation from work to make the most of the last few hours that I'll have the house to myself before my parents return from their trip tomorrow. I went to a yoga class led by a fun and inspirational instructor who is also a recording artist. It was my second time ever in his class and it reiterated the fact that his is one-stop therapy and practice for the tired and thirsty soul. He made us sing and dance in class while laughing.
On my bus ride home, I couldn't help but admire the weather. Vancouver has finally shed the grey raincloud from its skies (for now) and the only way to react is to smile.
Life is good.
