Spring

I am sitting here at the kitchen table, flanked by a freshly made fruit smoothie to my left and the glowing start of sunset to my right. Renée Fleming is serenading me on my stereo (her rendition of Gershwin's "Summertime" has just come on) and I feel at peace after taking a half-day vacation from work to make the most of the last few hours that I'll have the house to myself before my parents return from their trip tomorrow. I went to a yoga class led by a fun and inspirational instructor who is also a recording artist. It was my second time ever in his class and it reiterated the fact that his is one-stop therapy and practice for the tired and thirsty soul. He made us sing and dance in class while laughing.

On my bus ride home, I couldn't help but admire the weather. Vancouver has finally shed the grey raincloud from its skies (for now) and the only way to react is to smile.

Life is good.
