On December 6th, RaeRae, Dillay, and I saw Irish dance-rock band Two Door Cinema Club at the Commodore. This was such a fun concert because the music and crowd were fantastic.
The opening act was a band from Seattle called Telekinesis. I thought a few of their songs were good but they didn't play the same genre as TDCC.

What I really enjoyed was the music played in between their show and Two Door Cinema Club's--songs from the '90s that I hadn't heard in awhile like The Chemical Brothers' "Hey Boy Hey Girl" (a video I remember watching many a time during a summer in Italy) and Darude's "Sandstorm" (the ultimate techno dance hit that I love doing my fake rave moves to). After the show ended, I read on TDCC's twitter that it was their own playlist! This made me love them that much more.
I had first heard of Two Door Cinema Club in Florence. Rob (my awesome roommate from near Cologne, Germany) had introduced the song "Cigarettes in the Theatre" and "Something Good Can Work" while we were cooking lunch one day. I was intrigued.

I must also note that RaeRae and I were eyeing someone who was backstage while the opening band was performing. Someone attractive with glasses on. We were pleasantly surprised to find out that this guy was the bassist for TDCC and that he was going to be playing right in front of us for the whole show! (ROW 1, BABY!!!)

I also understood why the drummer had such nice biceps (which I had noticed while he was setting up)--it was because he was constantly drumming at a faster than normal pace compared to other shows I have been to.
I had such a wonderful time thanks to the girls and these guys. And thus ends the Giosy Fall/Winter Concert Marathon Series of 2011...until December 30th for Mother Mother!
