Sorry I haven't updated lately. After returning from Sardegna I had a few days before heading to Lake Garda for a week where I was sans internet (which was very good for me). I'll be updating in the next few days and then I will finally get to see my parents again after more than 5 months apart. They arrive in Milan on Tuesday afternoon!
In the meantime, please, if you can, say a little prayer for my cat Chiara. She has lost a third of her weight in the past month (she was already underweight) due not only to her previously diagnosed poor kidney function but now also anemia. She has been slowly improving but requires daily visits to the vet for vitamin injections, which is going to be a lifetime treatment. My parents have been taking very good care of her in my absence--above and beyond what I expected and thought would be required--and we're very lucky that her old owner will be checking in on her everyday while my parents are away. My only wish, other than her recovery, is to be able to see her again when I come home.
I never understood pet owners until I became one, and as you can imagine I have been trying to distract myself from worrying or thinking about Chiara since it won't help anything with my being so far away. But I find myself preferring to get lost in books or television rather than concentrating on writing, so now you know why I've been quieter than usual.

ReplyDeletemy cat had the same things as chiara, and we gave her daily injections everyday at home, and she did pretty good on them for a few months! i'm sure you'll get to see her again :)
